Ace-Wagoner, Yvonne
Chairman
Yvonne works in clinical research as a project manager in the Patient Recruitment Strategy Group at a Clinical Research Organization. She currently serves as the board chair of the Mary M. Gooley Hemophilia Center and on the executive committee, health services and advocacy committees. Yvonne has strong ties with the Center. For many years her father and two uncles were patients of the Center (until the early 1990's) and her son who has severe hemophilia A, is a current patient at the Center. Her mission on the board is to ensure the Center continues to be able to support and treat their patients and family members through education, advocacy and outreach.
Austin, Amy
Board Member
Amy is a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley. She has been in the financial services industry for more than 13 years. She as a BS from the University of New Hampshire, her home state.
Amy enjoys cycling, running and anything outdoors when she isn't chasing her labs or driving her two teenage daughters to their various scholastic and sporting events. scholastic and sporting events.
Bayer, Richard - PhD
Board Member
Dick recently retired from Rochester General Hospital where he directed the Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory for 30 years. During that time, he worked closely with the Hemophilia Center, helping to develop clotting assays as well as liver iron assays for a Hemochromatosis Study in which we are participating. He also instituted the M.S. program in Clinical Biochemistry at Rochester Institute of Technology.
Dick continues to teach at Rochester General Hospital, RIT, and the University of Rochester, School of Medicine.
He is an active member of the Rochester Rotary Club, serving as Vice President of Youth Activities. He oversees both the Scholarship Committee as well as the School #8 - Roberto Clemente Committee. The Rochester Rotary Club has renewed a ten year committment with School # 8 to assist the students in literacy, math, and other educational and social programs.
Fox, Robert
President, CEO
Bob has been President/CEO of the Hemophilia Center since June 2000. He has been involved in Rochester's healthcare and non-profit community since 1990, formerly with the Rochester Health Care Forum and as Executive Vice President of the Hospital Consortium of Greater Rochester.
He is active with several organizations at the national level, including involvement with the national Hemophilia Foundation and the Iron Disorders Institute. Bob is President of the Hemophilia Alliance, a national group of Hemophilia Treatment Centers which was established to promote their common interests and to ensure high quality care. He is a founding board member of the American Thrombosis and Homeostasis Network, a non-profit group which provides stewardship to establish and operate a national data base to support care and research in support of people affected by bleeding disorders and clotting disorders.
Locally, Bob is a member of the Coalition of Agency Executives and of Rochester Rotary. He, his wife Lori and their son Miles live in Pittsford. He finished his first triathlon (sprint distance) in the fall of 2006, an unanticipated, welcome achievement. He strives for 5 servings of fresh fruits and vegetables every day. He's learned to eat brussle sprouts but does not like beets.
Gooley, Mary
Board Member
Mary, the Center's founder, helped organize the Rochester Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation in 1953 and served as the first director of the treatment center from 1959 until 1986. She was a guiding force in establishing Hemophilia Centers in other Upstate NY communities, and has served extensively at the national level. Her 'retirement' includes active involvement on the board of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, membership in the National Hemophilia Foundation, Retired Professionals Society, the Memorial Art Gallery, and the Eastman House. She is a life member of the Hemophilia Center's board.
Knauss, Jeffrey
Vice-Chairman
Jeff is a program integration manager for remote services at Xerox. He has worked at Xerox for many years. He has an MBA in marketing and finance from the Simon School of Business and an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from the University of Dayton. Jeff enjoys golf when he's not with his wife Sarah or his two black labs. Jeff serves on the Center's Finance Committee and is the current Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Dr. Peter Kouides
Medical/Research Director
Over the years in his 14 years of affiliation with the Mary M. Gooley HTC, Dr. Kouides has served as principal investigator on a number of retrospective and prospective studies dealing with the gynecological and obstetrical complications of von Willebrand disease. Currently, he is studying the diagnosis and management of menorrhagia in women with VWD for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as the use of levonorgestrel intrauterine device. Dr. Kouides is co-chair of the CDC Universal Data Collection study of women with bleeding disorders and co-chair of the ISTH Women’s Health Issues Scientific Subcommittee, selected to develop guidelines for the diagnosis and management of bleeding disorder-related menorrhagia. He is also on the Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee of the National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF), the CSL Behring grant review committee, and the executive board of the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Research Society (HTRS) of North America. Dr. Kouides is co-editor of the HTRS newsletter and the NHF HemeAware magazine.
When he's not at the Lipson Blood and Cancer Center or the Hemophilia Center, he is devoted to his wife Ruth and two children Mara and Andrew in his role as Ruth's "third child". In his remaining time he is a wannabee triathelete and professional photographer, and a superb fundraiser!
Laprade, Edward, MSEA

Essentially, with over 35 years of diverse corporate, entrepreneurial, and non-profit diverse experience in the private and public sector of local, county, regional, state and global organizations in a wide range of industry fields, Edward is able to wisely apply practical and visionary expertise in a coaching and consulting varied approach to skillfully navigate through client goals and relations challenges and success options. In addition, he has designed, taught and facilitated diverse program courses as college assistant professor of contemporary business, humanities and education/ethics discipline curriculum. Mikel, Dan
Board Member
Dan has worked as a Professional Healthcare Representative for Pfizer for the past nine years. Prior to this he was a representative with Pitney Bowes for nearly 20 years. He graduated from Alfred University with a BS in Business Administration and minors in Marketing and Management. Dan is also past president of the Irondequoit Youth Lacrosse Club. He and his wife Mary enjoy outdoor activities, including watching their three children play lacrosse - Jim at Siena College; and Caitlin and John in Irondequoit.
Dan is the current Co-Chair of the Fund Development Committee of the Center.
Robert Moldoch

Bob, a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, is currently a Profitability Manager within the Global Product Delivery Group at Xerox. During the past 15 years with the company, he has gained valuable experience in the areas of manufacturing, engineering, finance, and business.
Morono, Eric, DDS
Board Member
Dr. Morono graduated Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts in 1982, with a degree in Zoology. He received his dental degree in 1987 from the University of Buffalo. He is a member of the ADA, New York State Dental Association, and the 7th District Dental Society. Dr. Morono has been married for twenty years to his wife, Susan. They have four children: Meghan, Taylor, Jordan and Ryan. Dr. Morono?s hobbies of interest include: golf, gardening and scuba diving. He has been in private practice for 20 years.
Andrew Park
Board Member
Andrew is an outpatient substance abuse conuselor for Ontario County. He has received his bachelors degree from SUNY Fredonia in 2006, and his masters degree in mental health counseling in 2008. Andrew was diagnosed with severe hemophilia when he was 6 months old. He has been a patient of the Mary M. Gooley Hemophilia Center ever since. In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his family and friends, watch baseball, hockey and football, go to the movies, play Wii and many other activities. Andrew is currently the co-vice-president of the Board of Directors.
Searles, Joseph
Board Member
A native of Rochester, Joseph appreciates and respects organizations and countless other Rochestarieans for making the city a good place to live. In Rochester, he studied voice at The Hochestein School of music, and he also earned both a Bachelor’s and a Master of Science Degree in Management from Roberts Westleyan College. As Corporate Manager at Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, Joseph is familiar with the positive impacts of effective leadership.
Sham, Ronald - MD
Medical Director
Ron is the Center's Medical Director and has provided hematology services to patients for 16 years. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in biophysics and from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine.
He practices hematology in the Lipson Cancer and Blood Disorders Center at Rochester General Hospital. Ron has been intimately involved with hereditary hemochromatosis outreach and research at the Center.
Sirianni, Lori
Board Member
Lori's personal interest with the Center and the board stems from two young boys close to her heart that have been patients since the day they were born. She is a strong believer in philanthropy and giving back to the community. Her belief lies in helping the children of today for a better tomorrow. Consistently loving a challenge, she was eager to join the board and create an awareness in the community that could help make a difference to the center.
Lori is the Vice President of Sirianni Construction Custom Home Builders. She handles all interior and architectural designs for the company and all its clients. Prior to Custom Home building and Interior Design, Lori worked for Coty US LLC in New York, NY and was a Regional Sales Manager for the Northeast and Midwest territories. Lori holds a degree in Marketing and a Certificate in Travel and Tourism. She is a Rochester native, and currently resides in Webster with her husband and three young children.
Charles Skopinsky

Chuck has been actively involved in the hemophilia community since 2006 (local, state and national, primarily through the Hemophilia Federation of America and the NYS Hemophilia Advocacy Coalition). He and his wife Vicki have been married 14 years. They live in Greece with their son Robert. Chuck has been a patient of the Center since 1980 – he lives with Factor VIII deficiency.
Wachsler-Felder, Jana, PSY. D.
Board Member
Jana is a clinical psychologist with the Boike Marriage and Family Counseling practice. She is skilled at various modalities of therapy including cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, family therapy and health psychology.
Jana has also done some teaching in the past and has two publications to her credit.
She is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Anxiety Disorders Association of America.
Wells, Robert
Treasurer
Bob is a native of Rochester and has more than 20 years experience in the financial services business. He holds a B.A. in History from Williams College and an MBA in Finance from The Simon School of Business. He enjoys golf, skiing and coaching his daughter's soccer team, when he is not working on his historic home. He currently serves on the Finance Committee and the Fund Development Committee - Major Gifts Initiative.
