Support Programs

father-son-retreatHaving access to an understanding community and support system can be especially uplifting when dealing with a chronic medical condition. As a Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation, the Mary M. Gooley Hemophilia Center proudly offers many opportunities throughout the year for patients and their families to connect with each another and foster a strong sense of community, support, friendship, sharing and fun.

The Center regularly hosts many social events where members of the bleeding disorders community can came together. The annual Halloween and Holiday parties are events where patients and families can network, share stories and learn very quickly that they are not alone in this community. In addition to family-friendly events held at local sporting events and amusement parks, the Center also works closely with three special medical summer camps where kids with chronic illnesses can join together and have safe fun.

Educational Programs

facts-graphicInformation is power. In order to empower patients and families, the Center provides many educational sessions throughout the year. In addition to programs provided by our own expert team, the Center also invites national experts to present a wide array of cutting-edge topics to our local patient community. We offer up-to-date medical education, as well as programs that address other important issues such as medical insurance, stress management and overall health and wellness. Patients, family members and Center staff all make efforts to attend the NHF Annual Meeting for additional medical education and networking.
